Lead contacts, key dates and new application form draft

The new Graduate Application Form is scheduled for release in early September this year. This is the first of our regular communications to be sent to stakeholders across the University and the colleges to convey important information about this new form and any connecting processes prior to its release.

Feedback to these communications is encouraged and will be fed back to the project team. Although this may not always be implemented into the product released in this phase (September, 2016), continuous development will take place following its release allowing for changes to be implemented in later phases of the project. Due to time constraints, feedback for this phase will be prioritised based on achievability and necessity.

Please take note of the following important information:

1. Lead contacts

A lead accountable contact for each course, college and supporting office (e.g. the International Student Team) has been identified, all of whom can be seen within the stakeholder section of the Graduate Admissions Project (GAP) website. If you would like an amendment to be made to the lead accountable contact list, please provide details to the GAP team via gap-contact@admin.cam.ac.uk.

2. Application form release plan

The new Graduate Application Form will be available to applicants from Monday, 5^th September, 2016. The following dates are key for the roll out of this:

09/08/2016 – Warning to applicants of impending closure of current application form

22/08/2016 – Old Referee Portal to be closed permanently23/08/2016 – Current application form to be closed to applicants permanently

05/09/2016 – New application form is open to applicants

Please note that there will be no facility for applicants to apply online between 23/08/2016 and 05/09/2016; however, paper applications will still be accepted for exceptional circumstances. The Graduate Admissions website will be amended to reflect this information.

3. New Graduate Application Form

When an applicant has submitted their application, a Graduate Application Form will be accessible via CamSIS in the same way as currently happens.

However, this output of the Graduate Application Form will look different. Please use the following pages to review this new Graduate Application Form output and provide appropriate feedback:

•         Questionnaire to provide feedback

Action required: I encourage you, and especially academics who will be using this form, to  provide feedback via the above questionnaire by 24/06/2016.

All feedback received will be taken into consideration prior to the release of the application form and implemented where possible. Any changes to this draft will be sent to all stakeholders before the release in September.
